The AV (Audio / Visual) team is a core, intrigal part of every service, improving the experience for everyone

History

Since the Seeker Service began in 2000, there has always been a need for someone to manage the sound for the praise band and speakers, as well as to display song lyrics and sermon content on screen.

As the Seeker Service and praise band have developed and become a more integral part of our Sunday services, the Audio Visual (AV) requirements have grown significantly, both in terms of the equipment used and the technical expertise required.

We meet on Tuesday evening to dig deeper into God’s Word in an informal setting.

Our desire is to hear what God is speaking into our lives through our time of study together, to grow in spiritual maturity, and to apply it to our Christian living.

We finish the evening with tea / coffee / refreshments.

Our Bowling Club has 22 members.

We Play in Section A of the Lisburn League and practice from 9:30am untill 12pm on Tuesday mornings, and play our league matches on Tuesday nights commencing at 7:30pm.

Our season commences in September and runs through to March.

All news members would be made most welcome.

The choir leads worship at our 10am (11:30am on 1st Sunday of the month) and 6:30pm traditional services each Sunday.

The choir was formed in September 1962 to lead worship in the newly established St. Pauls Church. Services were initially held in renovated army huts which served as temporary accommodation before moving to the present Church for its dedication and consecration in January 1964.

The choir is a traditional SATB (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass) format and has been leading choral worship at morning, evening and Holy Communion services since its inception. Additionally the choir has been privileged to lead and add dignity to the many special, civic and festive occasions within the life of our Church. Each year the choir joins with other choirs in the Derriaghy Rural Deanery to take part in the Annual Choral Festival.

St Paul’s Praise Band leads worship in St Paul’s Church Lisburn at its family worship services.

These services will be at 11:30am each Sunday, with the first Sunday of each month being a combined Holy Communioin service, bringing traditional and more modern worship together in one service.

History

St Paul’s Praise Band was set up in 2000 to lead worship at a new “seeker” service that was started in St Paul’s. These early days were a far cry from where we are now - we had an ex-metal guitar player who only knew power chords; we had a rhythm guitar player who had only picked up a guitar two months before; a drummer who’d never played a real drum kit and was using a 4 pad electronic drum kit; a shy singer; small congregations; no PA worth speaking of and no idea what we were doing!

Here is a list of all the songs currently in the praise band sont list (as of 01 Sept 2026)

NOTE: The Spotify and YouTube links open a new browser window to the respective platform and search for the song title, and artist if available. This is experimental, and may not return the exact version we play (or in some cases, it may not even return the correct song).

The important thing about the Prayer Room is that it is a place where we meet with God and God meets with us.

A time of intimacy, approaching our Father as Jesus taught us! There is nothing that God uses or blesses more than when His people get together in believing, expectant praying. And there is nothing more that thrills and delights His heart than when His people come together to spend time with Him, and to listen to Him.
