Esther Chapter 6 verse 1 to 14

Don’t you think that God is amazing – the way He works things out in our lives in His perfect timing and for His bigger purposes? Esther Chapter 6 verse 1 to 14.

Question: How well did you sleep last night?

‘That night the king could not sleep.’ Esther 6v1.

1: Do you really trust God – that He cares for you and all that you are going through – even though you can’t always see or understand what He is doing in your circumstances?

‘And we know that in all things God works, for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.’ Romans 8:28

Question: Are you going through some difficult circumstances and are you struggling to really trust God because you just can’t see Him or see what He is doing in your life?

Question: It’s not coincidence, it’s providence – God’s providential care of His children, how can believing make a difference when things are really tough?

2: God opposes us when we are proud and delights in us when we humble ourselves and put Him first and put others and their needs before ourselves. Which are you doing? V4-14

‘Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.’ Ephesians 6:1.

‘All of you, clothe yourselves with humility towards one another because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’ 1 Peter 5v5

Question; In what ways can you see selfishness and pride creeping into your life and straining your relationship?

Question: So what clothes are you going to choose to put on this week in your relationship with God and with others?

3: Isn’t Jesus the most selfless and beautiful Saviour?

How should following Jesus as Saviour, King and Boss of your life make a practical difference to the way you treat others this week?

Philippians Chapter 2 1-4 If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care—then do me a favour: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.

5-8 Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn’t think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, and became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn’t claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death—and the worst kind of death at that—a crucifixion.

9-11 Because of that obedience, God lifted him high and honoured him far beyond anyone or anything, ever, so that all created beings in heaven and on earth—even those long ago dead and buried—will bow in worship before this Jesus Christ, and call out in praise that he is the Master of all, to the glorious honour of God the Father.

Question: Following Jesus as Saviour and king has got to make a difference to the way that we talk to people and the way we treat others this week. Will you choose to follow Jesus in a way that makes a difference in your life as you leave here today?
