Have you ever cried out to GOD in total despair and desperation for someone that you really love? ‘LORD, Can You help us?

I don’t know if you’ve ever been in a situation that there seems to be NO WAY out of it. NO way through it. NO way around it. You’ve tried everything and you’ve tried everyone BUT you’re beat….battered…..bruised…..defeated.

Question: Isn’t that exactly how this ‘desperate father’ is feeling right NOW in this passage?

1: There is something absolutely awesome and glorious about Jesus that you need to see and catch hold of it. V14-15.

V7 It’s like we see for a very brief moment a revelation of Who JESUS really is and HOW great JESUS really is. HE is GOD…..GOD in second person.

God’s One….God’s Only….God’s Glorious, beloved Son….Like the Apostle John sees JESUS in Revelation 1:12-17.

Sometimes our problems and troubles overwhelm us.

Sometimes our struggles and difficulties overwhelm us.

Listen and hear…. JESUS is speaking to YOU right NOW. Do whatever He tells you to do.

Question: What is Jesus saying to you and what are you going to DO about it?

2: There are times in our lives when we are so battered and bruised that we feel that we can’t even trust GOD anymore, even though we still want to. V17-24.

‘Teacher I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only child.’

• Luke 9:38.

As a Church and as the disciples of Jesus, we are meant to be believers, but often like these disciples we are riddled with unbelief that distresses the heart of JESUS, v19.

We believe and we don’t believe.

We trust and we don’t trust like we want to.

We want to rely totally on Jesus, and we find that we are riddled with all kinds of fears and doubts and unbelief.

Question: Are you trusting JESUS with what little strength and faith that you do have?

3: The only way to strengthen what little faith you do have is to remind Yourself of how great Your GOD is and how HE always keeps HIS promises to you.

Nothing is impossible with GOD.

• Mark 10:27.

‘With GOD all things are possible.’

• Matthew 19:26

‘Nothing is too hard for our GOD.’

• Jeremiah 32:7

‘Is anything too hard for the LORD?

• Genesis 18:14

Our GOD is able to do immeasurable more than all that we could ask or imagine, according to HIS power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21

‘LORD, if you are willing, You can make me clean.’

• Matthew 8:2

Jesus said, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?

Yes LORD they replied.’ Matthew 9:28

Question: Are you willing to build up your faith muscles by feeding and focusing on these Bible verses that enlarge our grasp of the greatness, and he goodness of Our Saviour?
